Position: Physician Assistant (Maternity Coverage – Independent Urgent Care)
Location: Tri County Urgent Care & Health and Wellness Center
507 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460
Duration: December 20, 2025 – February 2026
Schedule:
Weekdays: Mondays–Fridays, 8 AM–8 PM (2–3 twelve-hour shifts/week)
Weekends: Saturdays & Sundays, 8 AM–5 PM (rotating every other or every third weekend)
Coverage Arrangement: Working opposite another provider
Job Overview
Tri County Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to provide maternity coverage through the winter period. In this independent urgent care setting, you’ll be the clinical lead during your shift, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for a broad spectrum of urgent and primary-care presentations. You’ll collaborate with our experienced nursing team, communicate directly with supervising physicians as needed, and ensure seamless operations at our Phoenixville location.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Evaluation: Triage and perform comprehensive assessments (history, vitals, exam) for acute illnesses and injuries
Diagnostics: Order, perform, and interpret point-of-care tests, EKGs, and on-site X-rays
Procedures: Manage laceration repairs, abscess drainage, splinting, joint injections, and nail trephination
Medication Management: Administer IV fluids, injections, and prescribed medications; counsel on discharge prescriptions
Care Coordination: Facilitate referrals to specialists or emergency services when indicated; communicate with consulting physicians
Infection Control: Evaluate and treat minor infectious conditions (e.g., cellulitis, UTIs, respiratory infections)
Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document encounters in our EHR; uphold HIPAA and OSHA standards
Patient Education: Provide clear after-care instructions, preventive health counseling, and follow-up recommendations
Team Collaboration: Work closely with medical assistants, nurses, and front-desk staff to maintain efficient patient flow and positive patient experience
Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current NCCPA certification and PA licensure in Pennsylvania (or eligibility)
Proven urgent-care or emergency-medicine experience preferred
Competence in minor procedures, diagnostic testing, and acute care management
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Excellent verbal and written communication, with a patient-first approach
Ability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices
